Translate
What you meant, in English, Dutch, or German.
Dutch and German copy that reads as written for those readers — not converted for them.
What most translations miss
A translation can pass a grammar check and still be wrong. The sentence is correct. The meaning survived. But something in the register did not make it across. The level of formality, the implied relationship between writer and reader, the connotation a word carries that a dictionary does not capture.
This is the gap that a linguistics background makes legible. Translate handles the technical conversion and the softer layer underneath it: what the original was trying to do, and whether the translation does the same thing.
Right for you if
✓ You operate in multiple markets and need content that reads as written for each one, not translated for it
✓ You have had translations before that were technically correct but felt off to native speakers
✓ You are preparing a website, marketing materials, or business documents for a Dutch or German-speaking audience
✓ You understand that a word-for-word conversion and a good translation are not the same thing
What's included
✓ Translation in any direction across English, Dutch, and German
✓ Register and terminology consistency check throughout
✓ One round of revisions
✓ Delivery in the same format as the source document where possible
What's not included
✗ Layout and DTP work
✗ Transcription from audio or video before translation
✗ Certified or sworn translation for legal or official purposes
✗ Interpreting or live translation services
How it works
- 1
Quote: Send the source document and the target language. A quote is returned based on word count, typically within one business day. No work begins until the quote is confirmed.
- 2
Translate: The document is translated with consistent terminology and register throughout. For longer projects, a terminology check is carried out before translation begins to ensure consistency across repeated terms.
- 3
Review: The translation is reviewed for register, flow, and consistency before delivery. This is not just a proofread. It is a check that the translation does what the original did.
- 4
Deliver: The translated document is delivered in the agreed format with one round of revisions included. Revisions are based on feedback about accuracy or register, not changes to the source content.
What it costs and how long it takes
excl. 21% VAT
A standard 5-page site of around 2,000 words comes to approximately €300. Projects are quoted from the final source document.
Not the right fit if
- You need certified or legally recognised translation (this requires a sworn translator)
- You need transcription from audio or video before translation begins
- You need DTP or layout work on the translated document (this can be quoted separately)
